Pen Pal Fun! Personalize Your Pictures!

While we were on vacation, we took a few pictures to include in a package to R's pen pal. I thought it would be really cute to take pictures of him holding a sign that said "Hey Brooklyn!" Not only did R love the idea, but I heard that his new friend loved it too! It was simple and it made the pictures more personal. Plus, I think kids get a kick out of seeing their name. I know R does.

I let R pick out where he wanted the pictures to be taken. He wanted them near the pool and in front of the ocean, his two favorite spots. It was really adorable. Before we took the pictures, he asked me to spike his hair up so he would look "cool." I have no idea where he got that from and it's not something he tends to ask for. It made me giggle and I obliged. And apparently Brooklyn noticed!

You could also use this idea with family, both near and far. You could write a special message from the child and mail it via snail mail, or even email. You could post it on their Facebook wall! There are so many variations.

How could you implement this idea?

  2. I'm so glad you brought that idea up! I had totally forgotten about that potential use. In the past I've taken little pictures like that for my husband. But it's been awhile. The poor guy.

And no problem. I really hated even saying anything. hehe. I'm just thrilled that you featured me. Thank you!
